About The Firm
Collins Law Corporation was formed in 2004 to help clients with their real estate law, business and corporate law, asset protection, and estate planning needs. Please read about Brian Collins, Collins Law’s personal approach to lawyering, and client testimonials.
In real estate law, Brian Collins uses his experience as a real estate lawyer and real estate broker to assist clients with real estate purchases and sales, equity sharing agreements, for sale by owner (FSBO) transactions, lease options, easement issues, 1031 exchanges, and most other real estate transaction matters.
In business law, Mr. Collins applies his background as a business lawyer, CPA, and U.C. Berkeley Haas School of Business graduate to handle entity formations and dissolutions, negotiate, draft, and review contracts, draft shareholder agreements, buy/sell agreements, and other corporate agreements, negotiate and draft intellectual property and product license agreements, and counsel clients on business contracts and other legal issues.
In the asset protection area, Collins Law advises clients on how to best use limited liability companies, corporations, family limited partnerships, qualified personal residence trusts, “friendly” property liens, and other techniques to reduce the risk of losing assets to creditor judgments.
In estate planning, Mr. Collins creates estate plans that achieve clients’ personal wealth-transfer goals while minimizing estate taxes through the use of wills, living trusts, family limited partnerships, house trusts, limited liability companies, charitable remainder trusts, and insurance trusts. Powers of attorney, living wills, and advance health care directives are also implemented to ensure clients’ personal affairs are managed and health care wishes are respected in case of any incapacity.
